My therapeutic style is best described as an eclectic mix of interventions determined to be most beneficial and effective in treating unique issues and goals presented in counseling. With over 15 years of experience, I have extensive training and experience in solution-focused and brief therapy techniques and EMDR(Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). The bulk of my work is utilizing the following therapeutic approaches: Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Client-Centered Therapy, Existentialism, EMDR, and Family Systems.
Generally speaking, EMDR is a therapeutic process that can help in the healing of anxiety, panic, depression, addiction, other triggers and difficult emotions. EMDR has become a very popular therapy because 1) it tends to deliver impressive results, and 2) it tends to deliver those results much more quickly than other more traditional therapies. EMDR can even help to enhance “performance” often leading to more desirable/pleasant emotional reactions at work, in social situations, and at home.
I am fully trained in advanced levels of EMDR, and I have been providing EMDR therapy to clients since 2005. I use EMDR protocols to target those goals most suited to this type intervention. I’ve used EMDR to help clients to achieve healing for multiple cases of each of the following: agoraphobia, PTSD, panic attacks, phobias, performance enhancement on the job, and etc.
